As of January 1, 2020 the Illinois State Board of Education has offered reimbursement for course fees paid by public schools to approved Catalog providers.
IVSA is an approved provider in the Illinois Virtual Course Catalog, IVCC, and our public school partners are eligible to apply for funding reimbursement for Supplemental and Academy course enrollments.
From the ISBE website:
‘The Illinois Virtual Course Program is intended as a supplemental program that partners with schools to provide Full Service Core, Elective, AP and Credit Recovery courses for middle and high school students…All courses are taught by Illinois licensed instructors and aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards. Public school districts that enroll students in courses from the catalog can request reimbursement from ISBE, subject to appropriations by the General Assembly’
HOW IT WORKS
Schools are required to complete the ‘Intent to Apply’ web form by May 31, 2026. This will be completed at the end of the current school year for reimbursement for that prior year
This allows ISBE to accurately calculate the district’s reimbursement rate. Only schools that complete this form will be eligible for reimbursement. Schools sign up their students with IVSA as School Pay, students successfully complete their courses, and the school submits the required form to ISBE for reimbursement.
Reimbursement for the 2025-2026 school year covers courses completed between June 1, 2025 through May 2026. Summer 2025 can be included now, Summer 2026 courses will be eligible for reimbursement in the 26-27 school year.
